1.12 million Toyota vehicles are being recalled due to a possible air bag issue

Toyota Motor announced on Wednesday that it would be recalling 1.12 million cars globally due to a potential sensor short circuit that could prevent air bags from deploying as intended.

The Occupant Classification System (OCS) sensors on a number of Avalon, Camry, Corolla, RAV4, Lexus ES250, ES300H, ES350, RX350 Highlander, and Sienna Hybrid vehicles are among those covered by the recall, which is valid for model years 2020 through 2022. In the US, it comprises one million automobiles.

The sensors make sure that if a youngster or small adult sits in the front seat, the air bags won't go off. Dealers will examine the sensors and replace them if needed. The recall will be announced to owners by the automaker starting in February.
