Matthew Perry died from acute ketamine effects, medical examiner reports

Authorities claimed on Friday that actor Matthew Perry passed away in an accident due to the acute effects of ketamine.

On October 28, Perry, 54, passed away at his Pacific Palisades residence.

In a statement made public on Friday, the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner's Office disclosed the reason of Perry's death.

"Contributing factors in Perry’s death include drowning, coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine (used to treat opioid use disorder). The manner of death is accident," the statement said.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, first responders were called to a Pacific Palisades property on the day of Perry's death at 4:07 p.m. regarding a "water emergency" of an unidentified kind.
