Twitch's top streamer, 'Ninja,' receives diagnosis of skin cancer
American gamer and Twitch celebrity Tyler “Ninja” Blevins disclosed he has melanoma.
After learning the news at his dermatologist's annual skin/mole check, Blevins, 32, Twitch's most followed user, wrote on X that he is "still in a bit of shock".
"There was a mole on the bottom of my foot that they wanted to remove just to be careful," he wrote in the post. "It came back as melanoma, but they are optimistic that we caught it in the early stages."
He claimed doctors "removed a larger area around the melanoma with the hopes that under the microscope they will see clear non-melanoma edges and we will know we got it." A second dark spot near the mole was also biopsied.
He advised his followers to have skin exams.
"I’m grateful to have hope in finding this early, but please take this as a PSA to get skin checkups," said.
One of the most popular esports and gaming personalities is Blevins, a decade-long streamer. He has 19 million followers on Twitch, where he often plays titles like Fortnite.
