Sean "Diddy" Combs was arrested Monday night in New York City by federal agents from Homeland Security Investigations.

A representative confirmed that Combs was taken into custody at a Manhattan hotel and is currently undergoing processing. The specific charges remain unclear at this time.

Combs' attorney, Marc Agnifilo, responded to the news, calling it "an unjust prosecution."

"We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Sean "Diddy" Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community," Agnifilo said in the statement.

"He is an imperfect person, but he Is not a criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court," Agnifilo added.

In recent months, Combs has been the subject of multiple lawsuits involving allegations of sexual misconduct and violence, which both he and his representatives have consistently denied.

Earlier this year, Combs became the focus of a months-long investigation by Homeland Security Investigations, related to sex trafficking. The investigation included high-profile searches of his homes in Los Angeles and Miami in March.

Since November of last year, Combs has faced ten lawsuits, nine of which accuse him of sexual assault.

In May, Combs issued an apology after CNN aired security footage from 2016, showing him allegedly attacking Cassie, legally known as Casandra Ventura, in a Los Angeles hotel hallway. He acknowledged his actions as "inexcusable" and accepted "full responsibility."

As the founder of Bad Boy Records, Combs has been a significant figure in hip-hop for over three decades, collaborating with iconic artists such as the Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, Usher, Lil Kim, Faith Evans, and 112.
