Motocross star and X Games medalist Jayo Archer passes away at the age of 27
Jayden Archer, a prominent Australian freestyle motocross athlete, has tragically passed away, reportedly while practicing the signature trick that propelled him to fame.
Archer, aged 27, achieved renown as the first motocross rider to successfully execute a triple backflip in competition, a feat he accomplished at the Nitro World Games in Brisbane in November 2022. Shortly after this historic achievement, he proposed to his girlfriend.
According to ESPN, Archer lost his life while rehearsing the same trick during training in his hometown of Melbourne.
Archer was a distinguished figure in the Australian motocross community. His talent earned him a sponsorship deal with Powersports Kawasaki in 2011 at the tender age of 15, following his record-setting motorcycle backflip over a distance of 75 feet.
In 2023, Archer earned a medal at the X Games and stood as one of only three individuals recognized for performing the triple backflip.
Nitro Circus, an action sports collective with which Archer was associated for a decade, confirmed his untimely passing on social media.
