Julio Uras, a Dodgers pitcher, was detained close to the Los Angeles stadium where Messi was playing in an MLS match

Julio Uras, a pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, was detained close to BMO Stadium, the location of a Major League Soccer match featuring Lionel Messi that had a star-studded crowd in attendance.

In the park, which houses the stadium, Exposition Park public safety said that its officers detained Uras at around 11 p.m. on Sunday. The agency refused to say what charges Uras was detained on right away, but it promised to provide more information on Monday.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's booking logs, Uras paid $50,000 bail and was freed just before 5 a.m. on Monday.

His court date is September 27.
