Boston acquired Jrue Holiday

After only a few days away from the Eastern Conference, Jrue Holiday is back in the mix, and the Boston Celtics are hoping the Olympic gold medalist and NBA champion can help them win another championship.

In the trade that sent seven-time All-Star Damian Lillard to the Bucks last week, Holiday was shipped to the Trail Blazers, and the Celtics worked out a deal with Portland on Sunday to acquire him.

Portland will receive two future first-round draft picks in exchange for Boston giving up two important players: forward Robert Williams and point guard Malcolm Brogdon, who is currently the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year. What would have been Boston's first-round selection in 2029 and Golden State's first-round pick in 2024 (top-four protected) will go to the Blazers.

"Seeing Jrue in a Celtics uniform excites us," Celtics President Brad Stevens stated. "Throughout his career, his influence has been felt both on and off the court, and he plays the game with a great competitive character."
