Memphis Grizzlies player Ja Morant will have season-ending shoulder surgery
The Memphis Grizzlies revealed Monday night that standout Ja Morant will have season-ending shoulder surgery.
According to the Grizzlies, Morant, who was suspended for 25 games for off-court troubles, subluxated his right shoulder during training on Saturday.
After experiencing discomfort and instability, the 24-year-old had a labral tear diagnosed by an MRI.
Before the 2024-25 season, Morant should recuperate fully.
Morant was prohibited from team activities in May 2023 after an Instagram Live video of him flashing a gun went viral, two months after serving eight games for a similar video.
He returned in late December with the Grizzlies 6-19 and 13th in the Western Conference.
