After allegations of domestic violence, Brazil removes Man United winger Antony from the team

The Manchester United winger Antony was cut from Brazil's team for two forthcoming World Cup qualifiers after allegations of domestic abuse against his ex-girlfriend were made public in Brazilian media on Monday.

Antony won't be playing for Brazil against Bolivia and Peru, according to the Brazilian soccer organization, "due to the facts that became public on Monday."

On May 20, Antony's ex-girlfriend allegedly assaulted him and denounced him to the police; he vehemently disputed the allegations in June and once more on Monday.
