Inter Miami CF acquires an international roster spot and up to $100,000 GAM in exchange for Christopher McVey

In exchange for defender Christopher McVey, Inter Miami CF announced today that it has acquired a 2024 International Roster Slot from D.C. United. If McVey meets specific performance metrics, the Club will also receive up to $100,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM).

“Chris has been a reliable, valued member of our squad since he joined the Club, playing every match in his first season and helping us make history in winning our first title last year. We’re thankful for his efforts at Inter Miami and wish him well in his future,” said Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson.

Prior to the 2022 Major League Soccer season, McVey signed with Inter Miami. He participated in every game of his rookie regular season. Throughout all competitions, the defender made over 60 appearances for the team, contributing one assist and one goal. In 2023, he participated in three Leagues Cup games, which contributed to the team's historic first-ever victory.
