A Texas DPS office is struck by an 18-wheeler truck, seriously injuring several people

Officials reported that several individuals sustained serious injuries on Friday when an 18-wheeler truck collided with a Department of Public Safety office in Brenham, Texas.

Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough indicated that the incident was deliberate and "perpetrated by the individual who was denied a CDL yesterday."

Authorities have not disclosed the cause of the truck crashing into the building and plan to provide an update during a news conference on Friday afternoon.

According to a hospital spokesperson, three individuals were transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in stable condition, having sustained minor injuries from debris resulting from the building's damage.

The truck driver received medical treatment at the hospital before being handed over to law enforcement, as confirmed by the hospital spokesperson. Police further affirmed through a post on X that they had detained a suspect.

The identities of those involved have not been made public.
