Son of former YouTube CEO found dead at UC Berkeley
On Tuesday, the 19-year-old son of former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki was discovered deceased at the University of California, Berkeley, according to a Facebook post made by his grandmother.
The young student, residing at the Clark Kerr Campus, a student housing area, was found unresponsive around 4:23 p.m. local time, as stated by UC Berkeley spokesperson Janet Gilmore. Esther Wojcicki, the victim's grandmother, confirmed his passing and identity in a Facebook post the following Wednesday.
“My beloved grandson Marco Troper, age 19 passed away yesterday. Our family is devastated beyond comprehension,” Esther Wojcicki said.
Upon receiving reports, the Berkeley Fire Department immediately responded to the scene and began life-saving procedures on the student, as reported by Gilmore. Unfortunately, when campus police arrived, the fire department had already declared him deceased.
Gilmore assured that there were no indications of foul play and that an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death was in progress.
