Houston flea market shooting kills juvenile, injures 4 others; shooter at large
Pearland, Texas, police reported that a Houston flea market "disturbance" killed a juvenile and hospitalized four others Sunday night.
Pearland police reported that the shooter or shooters were at large and under investigation.
At an evening news conference, police spokesperson Chad Rogers said two victims were minors. Police said "one of the juvenile victims has died of their injuries." on X, formerly Twitter.
The department reported hospitalizing all five victims. These conditions were unavailable.
The Pearland police responded to a 5:34 p.m. report of shots fired at Cole's Flea Market, 21 miles south of Houston.
Rogers said the shooting was caused by disputes between two people at the location. Two shooters were possible, he said.
The spokesperson said "This started because there was a disturbance between two individuals at the flea market that resulted in gunfire," adding that the information was preliminary.
