Police say Washington, DC gunfire killed 2 and wounded 5
According to police, a shooting in Washington, DC, early Sunday morning resulted in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to five others.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. in the vicinity of 7th and P Street Northwest, near the Kennedy Recreation Center, as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department.
All the victims, described as adults, were transported to nearby hospitals, stated Metropolitan Police Executive Assistant Chief Jeffrey Carroll during a media briefing. No updates on their conditions were provided.
The circumstances leading to the shooting, as well as the identity of the shooter(s), remain unclear. The incident happened approximately twelve blocks northeast of the White House. Police have not made any arrests nor disclosed any suspects in connection with the case.
“We’re asking anyone who may have any information related to this incident or may have witnessed it to contact the Metropolitan Police Department,” Carroll said.
