The legal case brought by the NY Attorney General's office against Donald Trump, his adult sons, and their business has rested

The lawsuit brought by the NY Attorney General's office against the late President Donald Trump, his adult sons Eric and Donald Jr., and their business, has been put on hold.

Almost six weeks have passed throughout the trial, during which time testimony has been given by 25 witnesses, 24 of whom testified in person.

Prior to the attorney general's office resting its case, Ivanka Trump was the final witness to testify. She listened to her father's and her brothers Donald Jr. and Eric's testimonies.

Before the trial began, Judge Arthur Engoron issued an order declaring that Donald Trump and the other defendants had engaged in "persistent and repeated" fraud.

The amount of damages that the Trumps will purportedly have to pay for their dishonest business practices—which included exaggerating Donald Trump's worth on financial statements—are currently being deliberated by the judge.

Six more allegations, including forging financial statements, insurance fraud, and manipulating corporate documents, are being pursued by the attorney general.

Additionally, the attorney general wants to prohibit the Trump family from conducting business in New York.

Trump's lawyers said they would wrap up their defense by the middle of December, and they are scheduled to start on Monday.
