Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli dies at 83

Italian fashion icon Roberto Cavalli has passed away at 83, as reported by Corriere della Sera. The publication notes his prolonged illness.

Leaving behind six children, his youngest, Giorgio, was born in 2023 when Cavalli was 82. Giorgio is the first child from his marriage to Swedish model Sandra Nilsson, who is 38 years old. Their union began in 2014. Cavalli expressed in an interview with Corriere della Sera that Nilsson provided steadfast support during his treatments, even staying by his side in the hospital.

Born in Florence in 1940, Cavalli pursued interior design studies at the Academy of Arts, although he never obtained a diploma. His journey into textiles commenced there.

Establishing his eponymous brand, Roberto Cavalli, in the 1970s, Cavalli's fashion empire now spans across more than 50 countries. Renowned for his signature style incorporating animal prints, supple leather, patchwork techniques, and embellishments like sparkles and rhinestones.
