Japan removes all tsunami warnings in the wake of the earthquake

According to Japan's Meteorological Agency website, all tsunami advisories have been lifted as of Tuesday morning.

Following the 7.5-magnitude earthquake that struck central Japan on Monday afternoon, the advisories were released.

Just over ten minutes after the agency promptly issued a tsunami warning along the western coastal regions, the first waves were reported to have hit the coast.

Along Japan's western coast, several locations were struck by tsunami waves as high as 1.2 meters (4 feet). Later, the tsunami alerts were taken down.
