King Charles III will return to his public responsibilities next week

Buckingham Palace made an announcement on Friday that King Charles III of Britain will be resuming his duties, next week after a period of receiving treatment and recovering from his disclosed cancer treatment two months ago.

Tuesday the King and Queen are set to visit a cancer treatment center where they will meet with both experts and patients. This event marks the beginning of a series of appearances scheduled for the coming weeks. In addition the royal couple is getting ready to welcome the Emperor and Empress of Japan for a state visit in June.

“As the first anniversary of the Coronation approaches, Their Majesties remain deeply grateful for the many kindnesses and good wishes they have received from around the world throughout the joys and challenges of the past year,” the palace statement concluded.

The Kings return to his responsibilities signals a move towards normalcy for the family following a challenging year. His hospital admission on January 26, for a planned procedure related to his prostate ultimately led to the discovery of his cancer condition.
