Massive Drone Attack Strikes in Moscow and Moscow Region

On the night of March 11, Ukraine attempted to carry out a massive attack on Moscow using unmanned aerial vehicles, the capital's mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported. The air defense forces of the Russian Defense Ministry destroyed 58 drones. Restrictions were also introduced at several airports in the Moscow region.

At 04:35 in the morning in the Ramenskoye urban district, located southeast of Moscow, air defense forces intercepted and destroyed six drones heading for the capital. This was reported by Sergei Sobyanin. Soon after, another drone was shot down in the same area. According to preliminary data, there is no damage or casualties, Sobyanin wrote on his Telegram channel.

The attack was not limited to the first seven drones. Later, air defense forces recorded and repelled four more drones, this time in two urban districts - Ramenskoye and Domodedovo. According to Sobyanin, the debris did not cause any damage to infrastructure or casualties. The mayor emphasized that the city's defense system responds promptly to threats, and specialists continue to monitor the situation at the crash sites.

At 05:20 am, air defense systems destroyed another 15 drones flying in the direction of Moscow, and then an attack followed - ten UAVs were shot down in a short period of time. For an hour, reports of the attack continued to come in. In total, according to Sobyanin, 58 enemy drones were shot down.

Representatives of the Federal Air Transport Agency reported that from 04:40 Moscow time, temporary restrictions on the arrival and departure of civilian aircraft were introduced at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports. Aircraft crews, air traffic controllers and airport services are taking all necessary measures to ensure flight safety.

Temporary restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft have also been introduced at Tunoshna Airport, which is located in Yaroslavl. According to Rosaviatsia, measures have been taken at Nizhny Novgorod's Strigino Airport.
