Qatar's Prime Minister emphasizes the importance of a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas conflict
During a Sunday phone conversation with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani underlined the importance of a ceasefire in Gaza, according to the nation's official news agency.
The prime minister voiced worries on Sunday that attempts at mediation would be made more difficult and the humanitarian situation would worsen if bombs in the Gaza Strip continued after that humanitarian break.
Al-Thani emphasized that actions like this, including the policy of collective punishment, are wrong in any situation and expressed Qatar's unshakable disapproval of all kinds of targeting civilians, especially women and children.
In the statement, the prime minister emphasized how critical it is to open humanitarian corridors as soon as possible in order to guarantee the safe delivery of supplies and relief to Palestinians impacted by the ongoing violence.
