YouTuber charged for shooting fireworks from a helicopter at a Lamborghini
A YouTuber, from California has been federally charged for organizing a stunt involving launching fireworks from a helicopter towards a Lamborghini as announced by the Department of Justice on Thursday.
Suk Min Choi, also known as "Alex Choi " aged 24 is facing charges for placing an incendiary device on an aircraft, based on information provided in a news release by the Justice Department. Choi was taken into custody on Wednesday. Is set to appear in court for the time on Thursday afternoon in downtown Los Angeles.
The charges stem from a video that Choi posted around July 4 2023 titled "Destroying a Lamborghini With Fireworks " as outlined in a document submitted on Tuesday to the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
According to authorities Choi did not obtain approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to film the video and did not possess an explosives license or permit from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
If found guilty, Choi could face up to 10 years in federal prison, prosecutors said. His formal hearing is expected to take place in the coming weeks.
