Francisco San Martin, 'Days of Our Lives' actor, died aged 39
Francisco San Martin, renowned for his role as Dario Hernandez on the serial opera "Days of Our Lives," has died, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office.
On January 16, the actor was discovered dead at his home. His age was 39.
The medical examiner's findings indicates that San Martin committed suicide.
The Spanish-born actor played Dario Hernandez in the daytime drama, which ran from 2010 to 2011.
He appeared in the 2013 film "Behind the Candelabra" and the romantic comedy-drama series "Jane the Virgin," where he portrayed Fabian Regalo del Cielo in seasons three and four.
San Martin also as Mateo, an estate manager, on "The Bold and the Beautiful" in 2017.
San Martin's career also featured appearances in short films including "A Love Story," "Hotter Up Close," and "Dot," the latter of which was his final credit in 2022.
San Martin, who was born in Mallorca and reared in Montana, worked as a child actor and adolescent model in his native Spain.
Actress Camila Banus, who played San Martin’s sister Gabi on “Days of Our Lives,” shared a tribute to him on Instagram.
“Pepe, what can I say but I love you and rest in peace, my friend,” she wrote. “Love you mucho mucho mucho. "I wish I had told you more.
