According to the country's actors and actresses union, Spanish actor Julian Ortega, who was well-known for his roles in the critically acclaimed Spanish-language Netflix drama series "Elite," passed away. He reportedly went into cardiac arrest while on a beach, and subsequently passed away. He was forty-one.

The obituary published earlier this week by Spain's National Union of Actors and Actresses acknowledged his death on Sunday, August 25, saying, "From the Unión de Actores y Actrices, we send our most sincere condolences to the actor's family and friends."

At first, it was stated that Ortega had drowned, but later on, police in Barbate, Spain, verified he had suffered a heart attack on the sands of Zahora Beach. This information was reported by the English-language Olive Press Spain.

After supposedly trying to resuscitate the actor, paramedics were eventually forced to declare him dead at the site.

The Spanish actress Gloria Muñoz's son, Ortega, was born in Madrid in 1983. According to the union, he went to acting school in the capital of Spain.

Subsequently, he commenced his over twenty years of on-screen career by making appearances in Spanish-language films, including the horror fantasy “La raíz del mal” (2008) and the drama “El Otro Barrio” (2000).

Prior to becoming well-known worldwide after making six appearances in Netflix's "Elite," he starred in a number of Spanish television shows.

In six episodes of the popular Spanish-language drama's first season in 2018, Ortega played the manager of the "La Cabana" restaurant. Before ending in July, the show ran for a total of eight seasons. The popular drama focused on three working-class teenagers who killed each other because of their jealousies of their wealthier classmates.

The three-season adventure series 4 Estrellas, whose finale airs on September 4 of next week, is where he most recently made an appearance. The miniseries Untameable, the TV series The Countryside, and the 2018 romantic comedy MyLove Lost were among his other film and television credits.

IMDb states that Ortega recently wrapped up directing the next film Trompeta, which is directed by Damián López Asla.
