NYPD officers fatally shot a 79-year-old man outside the Queens station

A 79-year-old man armed with a gun was shot and killed by police officers after a dispute outside a Queens precinct on Tuesday evening.
The incident took at about 6:40 p.m. in front of the 111th Precinct Station House on Northern Boulevard and 215th Street in Bayside.
According to authorities, a 79-year-old man from his vehicle near the station house, approached the building, and began speaking with a uniformed officer who was standing outside, serving as home security.
They claim the man then pulled out a loaded pistol and aimed it at the officer. The officer repeatedly asked him to drop the firearm while radioing for help, but the subject refused and continued to aim it at the officer.
Additional cops came and instructed the man to down his firearm.
When the subject continued to resist, four cops fired their firearms, injuring him many times.
The cops involved were sent to a local hospital for assessment. No cops were shot.
Police shared a photo of a loaded Cobra 38 special handgun found at the site.
It's unclear why the suspect approached the precinct with a loaded handgun.
According to NYPD authorities, the event was captured on police body cameras and precinct security cameras and is currently being investigated.
