During Monday demonstrations, LAPD arrests around 100 people

The Los Angeles Police Department said Tuesday that at least 113 individuals were detained during protests in downtown Los Angeles on Monday.

Ninety-six people were arrested on suspicion of failure to disperse. The agency said that one suspect was detained on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest, and vandalism.

The agency also said that 14 arrests were made following the looting of multiple buildings.

Two officers were injured during the protests Monday and were taken to a local hospital for treatment, authorities said without elaborating on how the officers were injured or the extent of the injuries.
