JetBlue Plane Veers Off Runway at Boston Logan, Prompting Temporary Flight Halt

Boston, MA — All flight operations at Boston Logan International Airport were briefly paused on Thursday after a JetBlue aircraft veered off the runway during landing, according to airport officials.
JetBlue Flight 312, arriving from Chicago O’Hare International Airport, exited the runway and came to a stop in a grassy area, said Samantha Decker, a spokesperson for the Massachusetts Port Authority. No injuries were reported, and all passengers were safely transported to the terminal by bus after disembarking via portable stairs.
The runway was temporarily closed while the aircraft was assessed and cleared.
The flight had departed Chicago at 8:41 a.m. Central Time and landed in Boston at 11:49 a.m. Eastern, according to flight tracking data. The cause of the incident remains unclear.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a brief ground stop at Logan Airport in response to the emergency but later lifted it. As of Thursday afternoon, about 14% of departing flights were still experiencing delays, according to data from FlightAware.
The FAA has launched an investigation into the incident.
