During Serbia's election protests, dozens were arrested and police were hurt
On Monday, several thousand people protested an unfair election earlier this month in Belgrade in front of the central election commission building.
Protesters marched to the main police station, where they believed police detainees were held.
38 people were arrested during and after a Sunday opposition protest over election results, police said. Police reported eight policemen injured in clashes.
On Sunday, protesters broke windows and glass at the town hall's main entrance before police dispersed them with pepper spray around 10 p.m.
Police administration chief Ivica Ivkovic said two of the eight wounded policemen were seriously injured.
A Serbian ally Russia claimed foreign-backed forces were inciting unrest.
“There are processes and attempts by third forces, including from abroad, to provoke such unrest in Belgrade,” Dmitry Peskov said. “We have no doubt that republic leadership will uphold the law.”
