Eritrean nationals were involved in violent riots that left more than 100 people hurt in Tel Aviv
Authorities in Israel said that dozens of individuals were hurt during Saturday's clashes in Tel Aviv between hundreds of supporters and detractors of the Eritrean government.
More than 114 individuals, including numerous police officers, were treated for injuries, according to Israel's Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency service. According to a statement from MDA, eight of the injuries were significant.
Later, the Israeli Police reported that 39 persons had been detained and 49 officers had been injured. In order to get away from the throng, police who felt endangered discharged live ammo, according to witnesses. If any of the day's injuries were caused by police live fire was not immediately apparent.
Social media videos showed Eritrean government supporters and opposition protesters fighting.
