Another wave of dozens of missiles has been launched toward Israel, an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson said Friday night.

“The attack is ongoing. The IDF said that dozens of missiles were fired at the State of Israel.

After Friday night's first volley of missiles, smoke could be seen rising from Tel Aviv and explosions could be heard there as well as Jerusalem.

At least two Israeli warplanes have been shot down in Iranian airspace, Iran’s official news agency, IRNA, claimed on Friday evening.

Iran launched "hundreds of ballistic missiles" toward Israel just moments ago, according to Iran's Islamic Republic News Agency.

The source declared, "the hard retaliation has begun."

Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said that Israel “should anticipate a harsh punishment” for its daylong assault.

Israel badly damaged one of Iran’s key nuclear sites and killed a startling array of top military and nuclear officials in the attacks that started on Friday morning.

At Natanz, one of Iran's principal nuclear enrichment facilities, the Israeli attacks seem to have destroyed the command center and damaged centrifuges. The killing of some of Iran’s top nuclear scientists continues a long-running Israeli campaign targeting the expertise needed to build a bomb. But the first phase of the Israeli attack did not hit the most likely repository of Iran’s near-bomb-grade nuclear fuel.
