VinFast EV, a Vietnamese company, unveiled an electric truck
VinFast, a Vietnamese manufacturer of electric vehicles that just joined the US market, unveiled intentions on Tuesday to target the country's well-liked pickup sector.
Vinfast debuted the mid-sized electric pickup known as the VF Wild at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Despite being classified as a concept car, VinFast executives have stated that they plan to produce a truck similar to the VF Wild.
“This is not just a new product in our offering — it showcases our aspiration to venture into the fast-paced and thriving electric pickup truck market,” Tran Mai Hoa, VinFast’s deputy chief executive for sales and marketing said in an announcement.
From bumper to bumper, the VF Wild is marginally shorter than a mid-sized pickup truck like the Ford Ranger or Toyota Tacoma. It features four doors, two rows of seats, and a cargo bed that is roughly five feet long, just like most contemporary mid-size pickups.
Due to its compact size, the VF Wild will not be directly competing with full-sized electric pickups such as the Tesla Cybertruck, Ford F-150 Lightning, and Silverado EV. It's also more compact than the R1T Rivian.
For the purpose of supplying electric automobiles to the American market, the company is now constructing a facility in North Carolina.
