In conjunction with the Tupac Shakur murder investigation, Las Vegas police detain a man
According to authorities, a Nevada man who is thought to be the final living suspect being looked into in Tupac Shakur's 1996 murder was taken into custody on Friday in relation to the long-running unresolved investigation.
Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson and Lieutenant Jason Johansson of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced to reporters that a grand jury had returned a murder charge against Duane Keith Davis, 60, often known as "Keefy D" or "Keffe D."
In the past, Davis has said that he was in the car that was parked next to the rapper's when he was shot. However, charges had never been brought in the case until this past Friday, which has long been the subject of news articles, conspiracy theories, songs, and films.
With a copy of the indictment in hand, Wolfson declared, "This is the indictment we've been waiting almost three decades for." "The reign of justice will end."
Sept. 7, 1996, saw a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas that left Shakur, 25, critically injured. He passed away on September 13.
Davis is the only surviving member of the four individuals believed to have been in the car that attacked Shakur.
"In this case, all three of the suspects are dead, and Duane Davis is the only living suspect connected to this investigation," Johansson stated.
