Tupac Shakur could win his first Grammy award over 30 years after his death

Tupac Shakur may win a Grammy posthumously.

The rapper was one of three late musicians nominated for best music film last week. He died in 1996 after being shot in Las Vegas.

Shakur was chosen for the five-part FX docuseries “Dear Mama,” based on his 1995 hit.

Allen Hughes directed the docuseries on the late musician and his mother, activist Afeni Shakur. It streams on Hulu.

Shakur faces late David Bowie and Little Richard for “Moonage Daydream” and “I Am Everything”. Bowie died in 2016 and Little Richard in 2020 from cancer.

Little Richard famously complained about never winning a Grammy.

Lewis Capaldi and Kendrick Lamar are in for “How I'm Feeling Now” and “Live From Paris, the Big Steppers Tour.”

The Recording Academy's best music film Grammy is "For concert/performance films or music documentaries." Award for artist, director, and producer.”
