The star of "Big Bang Theory," Kate Micucci, discloses that she received a lung cancer diagnosis
Kate Micucci, star of "Big Bang Theory," recently had surgery to treat lung cancer.
Over the weekend, Micucci, who portrayed Lucy in the CBS sitcom, announced her diagnosis and course of treatment on social media.
"Hey everyone, this is a 'Sick Tok,' not a TikTok," she exclaimed. "The reason I'm in the hospital is that I had surgery yesterday to treat lung cancer." They discovered it quite early.

Lung cancer can be diagnosed as a result of exposure to secondhand smoke, pollution, family history, and other factors, according to the American Cancer Society.
According to Micucci, her blood work revealed something strange, which prompted additional testing and ultimately resulted in the diagnosis of cancer.
“I had one thing in my bloodwork that came back really high,” she said. “So I went to a preventative doc who did a few scans. The spot in my lung was discovered when he examined my heart.
