Final obstacle for second Starship test flight is cleared by SpaceX
SpaceX gained FAA approval to fly its massive Starship rocket on a second test flight.
After a disastrous April launch disaster, SpaceX received a launch license for its next-generation rocket on Wednesday.
“The FAA has given license authorization for the second launch of the @SpaceX Starship Super Heavy vehicle. The FAA determined SpaceX met all safety, environmental, policy and financial responsibility requirements,” the FAA said in a statement on the social media platform X.
SpaceX said Wednesday that it plans to launch the test mission on Friday during a two-hour window starting at 8 a.m. ET.
The roughly 400-foot Starship rocket is designed for moon and Mars missions.
