Warner Bros. drops price of Max subscription with ads

HBO Max, a streaming service, is attempting to attract more customers to its low-cost, commercial-driven services by reducing the cost of its ad-supported product over the course of the next week.

New and returning Max members can join the streaming service with commercials for $2.99 a month as part of the Black Friday bargain from this Monday through next Monday, Nov. 27. There will be a six-month promotional period.

Monthly cost for an ad-supported Max membership is usually $9.99.

The maximum monthly costs for ad-free programs are $15.99 and $19.99.

The $43 billion merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery in April 2022 created Warner Bros. Discovery, the company that owns HBO. HBO Max became Max in May after the firm renamed it.

According to Netflix, 15 million people have signed up for its cheaper plans that include advertising as of earlier this month.

Due to consumer demand and the fact that ad-supported plans are more lucrative than non-ad-supported ones, streaming services have been increasing their pricing this year and encouraging customers to sign up for them.
