In spectacular way, Celine Dion returned to the stage during the Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

The iconic singer sang a timeless classic, Edith Piaf's "L'Hymne à l'amour," from the first stage of the Eiffel Tower to cap the ceremony on Friday, right after the Olympic cauldron was lit.

Beneath enormous illuminated Olympic rings, she performed to the accompaniment of a pianist on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower.

Renowned singer Celine Dion made an emotional recovery from sickness to serenade over 300,000 onlookers, including an estimated 6,800 athletes, while standing on the Eiffel Tower's balcony with the Olympic rings mounted to its iron sides.

Wearing an exquisite beaded white gown with tassels, Dion was in perfect form as she sang the high, clear notes.

Dion sang live for the first time after being diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome in 2022, thanks to her incredible performance. Muscle spasms and rigidity in the limbs and torso are symptoms of this uncommon neurological illness. The illness has severely damaged Dion's voice cords and made it difficult for her to control them.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that she “is a Canadian icon, an incredible talent, and she overcame a lot to be there tonight”.

He added: “Celine, it’s great to see you singing again”.

The performer of "My Heart Will Go On" last gave a live performance in New Jersey in March 2020.
