The 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show will feature Kendrick Lamar as the featured performer. In a statement made on Sunday in conjunction with the league's opening of play, the NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation—the entities that oversee the enormous football championship event—unveiled the rapper as the performer for the following year.

On Sunday, Lamar shared the news on his social media accounts.

“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one,” Lamar said in a statement on Sunday.

The Apple Music Super Bowl LIX will be held at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9, 2025. Lamar, a 17-time Grammy Award winner who gained notoriety this year with his smash song "Not Like Us," which was the result of a well-publicized musical rivalry with another hip-hop artist Drake, will be making a comeback.

Roc Nation and Jesse Collins, an Emmy-winning producer, will co-produce the Apple Music halftime show.

“Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer,” Roc Nation founder Jay-Z said in a statement. “His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”

Lamar stands as one of the most renowned performers in hip-hop. He is the first non-classical, non-jazz musician to receive the prestigious Pulitzer Prize. He has 17 Grammy Awards and won the Pulitzer Prize for his album "Damn" from 2017.

In 2022, he put out "Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers," his fifth studio album. His popular song, "Like That," which he co-wrote with Future and Metro Boomin, peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks.

His 2024 single "Not Like Us," a diss tune directed towards Canadian pop artist Drake, became one of the summer's biggest hits, peaking at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Additionally, it became the rap song on Spotify to achieve 700 million plays the quickest.
