The death toll in Los Angeles fires has risen to 24

The California wildfires have killed 24 people, according to an updated death toll from the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner.

The instances are currently being investigated by the department.

According to the Los Angeles coroner, 16 of the fatalities were caused by the Eaton Fire in Pasadena and eight by the Palisades Fire in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood.

Officials fear that the death toll may increase further.
