Congress, according to Biden, would give Putin "the greatest Christmas gift" if a package of aid for Ukraine and Israel is not passed

President of the United States Joe Biden stated on Tuesday that Congress would give Russian President Vladimir Putin "the greatest Christmas gift" if the aid package for Ukraine and Israel is not passed.

In the Oval Office with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Biden declared, "Congress needs to pass supplemental funding for Ukraine before they break for the holiday recess, before they give Putin the greatest Christmas gift they could possibly give him."

The president also declared that $200 million more would be available for Ukraine's drawdown. Zelensky is meeting with Biden following his meeting with Congressmen on Capitol Hill to press for increased assistance while Russia continues its invasion of Ukraine.

Zelensky has made three trips to Washington since the start of the war; on his most recent visit in September, he also had a meeting in the Oval Office with Biden. "It's great to be at your side once again, we're going to stay on your side," Biden said to Zelensky.
