More than $350 million is fined to Donald Trump by the judge
On Friday, the judge overseeing a civil trial regarding business fraud involving Donald Trump issued a ruling requiring the former president, his sons, associates, and company to pay more than $350 million in damages. Additionally, their ability to conduct business in New York was temporarily restricted.
Judge Arthur Engoron mandated that Trump and the Trump Organization must compensate over $354 million in damages. He also prohibited Trump from holding any officer or director positions in New York corporations or legal entities for three years, including his own company.
Moreover, the ruling prohibits Trump and his organization from seeking bank loans for the next three years.
This decision poses a potential setback to Trump's financial standing and public image, as he has long portrayed himself as a successful entrepreneur, a narrative he heavily relied on during his presidential campaigns. Currently pursuing a third bid for the White House, Trump faces numerous legal challenges, with this case being just one among many. He is slated to appear in four separate criminal trials, with the first scheduled to commence on March 25th.
