2 troopers were shot while responding to a call in Pennsylvania

The Pennsylvania State Police said that two state troopers were shot while responding to a complaint in northeastern Pennsylvania on Thursday.
The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) are looking into the incident that happened in the northeastern section of Susquehanna County.
Trooper First Class Robert M. Urban, a spokesperson for the Pennsylvania State Police, stated that both of the troopers who were wounded were in the hospital for surgery early Thursday afternoon. He did not elaborate on their conditions and added that the police were still working to piece together what had happened on the call.
Trooper Urban did not say who the suspect was. He stated that police shot and killed him around three hours after the troopers were shot along State Route 171 in rural Susquehanna County.
Mr. Shapiro stated that Col. Christopher Paris, who is in charge of the Pennsylvania State Police, was already there.
“I ask all of you to join us in prayer for these brave state troopers,” Mr. Shapiro told an audience at a planned event before he departed to see the troopers.
The police told cars to stay away from the region, which is a few miles from Thompson Township, a small village with less than 500 people.
