According to an Israeli military official, "the fighting in the heart of Gaza continues"

Israel asserts that Hamas has lost control of northern Gaza, particularly Gaza City, and an Israeli military spokesman stated on Tuesday that battle is still going on in the "heart of Gaza."

IDF spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari stated during his daily news briefing that "the fighting in the heart of Gaza continues," and Israel is still "prioritizing the elimination of senior Hamas officials inside Gaza as a main objective of the war."

“We have achievements, but it’s important to me that the public knows — we still have a lot of work to get done, and it’ll take time,” he said.

When asked if Israel will carry out the assault into the southern region of the Gaza Strip, Hagari answered:

“The task we were assigned with by the government is to dismantle Hamas. In order to dismantle Hamas, we need to operate in all of the Gaza Strip. Therefore, we’ll operate anywhere in the Gaza Strip to dismantle Hamas – from the air, sea, and ground.”
