Netanyahu claims that "release of murderers" from Israel is not part of the hostage agreement
While revealing additional details from the agreement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Wednesday that the "release of murderers" is not part of the hostage deal.
The agreement has been hailed by the majority of Israelis, and Netanyahu declared that the security establishments and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) fully back the agreement with Hamas.
Netanyahu stated at a press conference, "They made it clear yesterday at the government meeting that the security of our forces will be maintained during the pause days."
However, some have expressed concern that Palestinians scheduled for release from Israeli prisons may include those who have carried out deadly attacks against Israelis.
Netanyahu attributed the agreement's success to Israel's "heavy" diplomatic pressure on Hamas and its "non-stop massive military pressure" to free the hostages the militant group had taken hostage.
The IDF will "prepare for the continuation" of the war against Hamas, according to Netanyahu, during the ceasefire.
"We will keep fighting until we reach all of our goals," he said.
