Sony PlayStation Network experiences massive outage, frustrating gamers nationwide

Sony's PlayStation Network is facing a severe outage, preventing many disgruntled players from playing online games or accessing the online shop.
"We are aware some users might be currently experiencing issues with PSN," PlayStation said on its social media platforms, confirming users' mounting complaints around the globe.
Sony's PlayStation Network status website said that services such as PlayStation Direct, the PlayStation Store, gaming and social, PlayStation Video, and account administration were experiencing problems.
According to the Downdetector outage tracking service, customers began reporting PSN troubles late Friday.
Shortly after, Sony reacted to user complaints, confirming the issues but without offering any information about the likely source of the outage.
Sony's website revealed difficulties with their PlayStation Network services. The PlayStation support page stated that "some services are experiencing issues," including account management, gaming and social services, PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Direct.
PlayStation Network stated that they were attempting to rectify the issue as quickly as possible.
