OpenAI reveals its newest AI model, GPT-4o
OpenAI announced its latest artificial intelligence large language model on Monday, promising ease of use.
The GPT-4o model updates the company's GPT-4 model, which launched over a year ago. Unpaid clients can use ChatGPT to access OpenAI's most advanced technology.
OpenAI Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati said the ChatGPT will now learn from prior user discussions and translate in real time.
“This is the first time that we are really making a huge step forward when it comes to the ease of use,” Murati said during the live demo from the company’s San Francisco headquarters. “This interaction becomes much more natural and far, far easier.”
OpenAI released the updated version to keep ahead in the AI weapons race. Google and Meta, rivals, are building sophisticated huge language models for chatbots and other applications that leverage AI.
Murati said OpenAI will create a ChatGPT desktop app with GPT-4o features to give people another way to connect with the company's technology.
ChatGPT will get new features and technology in the future months.
