Winner of a Tony Award Michael McGrath dies at age 65
Michael McGrath, a Broadway character actor who was great in crazy, feel-good shows and won a Tony Award for "Nice Work If You Can Get It," has died. He turned 65.
Lisa Goldberg, who worked as McGrath's spokeswoman, said that he died on Thursday at his home in Bloomfield, New Jersey. No other information was given.
In 2012, McGrath won the Tony Award for best actor in a featured musical part for his role as Cookie McGee in "Nice Work If You Can Get It" with Matthew Broderick and Kelli O'Hara.
His wife of 30 years, actress Toni Di Buono, and his daughter, actress Katie Claire McGrath, will carry on after him.
