Song Jae-lim, a South Korean actor, died at age 39
Song Jae-lim, a South Korean actor and former model who gained popularity in K-dramas, was discovered dead in Seoul on Tuesday. His age was 39.
According to Seoul Seongdong police, Song's body was discovered in his apartment by a friend who had intended to join him for lunch that day.
“Our initial investigation so far, has revealed no signs of criminal activity,” police told. Police added that they will investigate the cause of the death following standard procedures.
Before starring in other variety events and television shows, the 39-year-old, who started his career as a model, gained notoriety in the historical drama in 2012.
Song Jae-lim was born in 1985, and the 2009 movie "Actresses" marked the start of his entertainment career.
He starred in a number of TV dramas after his breakthrough performance, such as Two Weeks (2013), Goodbye Mr. Black (2016), Secret Mother (2018), and I Wanna Hear Your Song (2019).
He became well-known for playing a royal guard in the historical drama "Moon Embracing the Sun" in 2012. He also became even more well-known after appearing on the reality show "We Got Married." In October, he played his last role in the musical "La Rose De Versailles."
After learning of Song's passing, South Korean celebrities expressed their respects to him.
