Since snowplow accident, actor Jeremy Renner describes whirlwind of therapy methods
Actor Jeremy Renner of "Avengers" said he has been looking into "every" kind of therapy since suffering organ damage and breaking numerous bones in a near-fatal snowplow accident in January.
Since then, he's injected himself with healing molecules called exosomes, hooked himself up to an IV drip, and enclosed himself in a steel chamber intended to aid in the healing process. However, he claimed that his mental health has played a major role in his recovery.
In an Instagram video posted on Tuesday, Renner stated, "My greatest therapy has been my mind and the will to be here and push to recover and be better."
A photo of the 52-year-old actor wearing a red light mask was posted online. According to some dermatologists, this therapy expedites the body's natural healing process.
Among the other treatments he has attempted, he mentioned in the post, "physical therapy, peptide injections, IV drips and pushes, stem cell and exosomes... hyperbaric chamber 2.0 atmospheres, [and] cold plunges."
This year on New Year's Day in Nevada, Renner was struck by a 7-ton snowplow while attempting to prevent it from colliding with his nephew. He claimed to have suffered internal organ damage, more than 30 broken bones, and an eye that had popped out of his skull.
Following the incident, Renner remained in the hospital for over two weeks.
