Actor Ryan O’Neal, star of several landmark films has died

According to his son, Patrick, Oscar-nominated actor Ryan O'Neal, star of several landmark films like "Love Story" and "Paper Moon," has died. He was 82, according to reports.

"My dad passed away peacefully today, with his loving team by his side supporting him and loving him as he would us," wrote Patrick O'Neal in a statement.

In 1967, O'Neal made his breakthrough on the nighttime soap opera "Peyton Place." Among his other prominent roles were those in "Barry Lyndon" and "A Bridge Too Far."
