At the 2024 BET Awards, Will Smith sang a new song.

The four-time Grammy Award winner and Academy Award winner for acting took the stage at the storied awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday and sang an emotional rendition of "You Can Make It."

Saturday Service Choir and Haitian-American singer-songwriter Fridayy, who also joined Smith onstage during the awards ceremony, are featured in the song, which was released on Friday. The audience gave the act a standing ovation and shouts as well.

“Nobody gets an easy ride,” said Smith as the music faded out. “We all have a cross to bear, but there is wisdom in that fire, and every single moment of your life is a brand new opportunity. We are not being punished, we are being forged. Dance in your darkest moments.”

Smith has occasionally worked with Marc Anthony and Bad Bunny among other artists in recent years. Along with the EDM single "Get Lit," he released "Light 'Em Up" in 2017; the latter is featured on the soundtrack of his upcoming movie, "Bad Boys: Ride or Die."

Smith has won four Grammy Awards for his rap performances, both individually and with other artists in the duet or group. In 1988, he and DJ Jazzy Jeff performed the song "Parents Just Don't Understand," which earned him his first victory as the Fresh Prince.

The 1992 song "Summertime" by the duo also took home a prize. In 1998, Smith won back-to-back Grammys for his solo rap performance with "Men in Black," and the following year, with "Gettin' Jiggy with It."
